Dr. Sadik A. Ali

My name is Dr. Sadik A. Ali, currently employed with Mayo Clinic as hospital internal medicine consultant and also the progressive care unit medical director. I am on track for an academic rank promotion of assistant professor of internal medicine this upcoming November 2023. Completed my internal medicine training at Mount Sinai Hospital. However, my path towards medicine was not a straightforward one.
Before pursuing a career in medicine, I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. I graduated with honors in June 2010, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering. During my time in college, I was recognized on the Dean’s Honor List in 2007-2008 and was part of the NSBE APEx Honor Society.

After completing my engineering degree, I worked for 3M as a Control System Engineer. This experience provided me with valuable skills in problem-solving and critical thinking, which would become essential in my future medical career.

Throughout my career, I have been an active member of various professional organizations. I have been a member of the American College of Physicians since 2015 and have been involved with the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Additionally, I have been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers since 2005.

As I reflect on my accomplishments, I am grateful for the diverse experiences that have shaped me into the physician that I am today. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to my patients, while also remaining actively involved in our communities, professional organizations and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of medicine.
